More Pictures of Mayan Ruins
This is a picture of a Temple guard at the Mayan ruins of Con Pon, which was like the Athens of the Mayan world. It is a whole different atmosphere down there as far as law enforcement and security goes, and that was before we in the US were even thinking much about security it was in 2000 over a year before the September, 11 attacks. I remember we were leaving the airport in Tela and drove by a couple of, I think they were police officers, on a motor bike wearing urban camouflage, and the guy on the back was holding what looked to a sub-machine, and we were so close to them that he could of practically put the gun right in the van. It took a little getting used to seeing guys with shotguns and sub-machine guns around. Anyhow they are seriously down there, so don't go down there and except to commit a crime you wouldn't live long.
I think this is the human sacrifice alter, and the other one was the animal sacrifice alter. I can not remember, If anyone knows please leave me a comment and let me know.
