Picture of The Day-Gingerbread House

By Jon • Dec 12th, 2006 • Category: Holiday, Picture of the Day

This is a picture of the gingerbread house that my mom and I put together the other day.  I made the icicle on the side, which I think look alright; but it is hard to force the sugar through that special plastic thing they give you.  Maybe, next I’ll try making another gingerbread house sometime [...]

Picture of The Day-Christmas Lights

By Jon • Dec 11th, 2006 • Category: Holiday, Picture of the Day

Today’s picture is more Christmas lights.  I really liked how these particular lights were strung high up in the trees although you cannot see the trees in the picture you can probably tell they are up in the trees.

Picture of the day-sunrise

By Jon • Dec 10th, 2006 • Category: Nature, Picture of the Day, Sunset/Sunrise

This is a picture of the absolutely splendorous sunrise we had this morning.  When there are clouds in the sky you know the sunrise will be nice, but not always this nice.  It is funny that the sun rises every day, but it is always new each day, never the same patterns, just like a snow [...]

Picture of The Day-Mustang

By Jon • Dec 9th, 2006 • Category: Picture of the Day

This is a picture of my mustang.  OK, so it is not really my mustang, but it is my picture of the mustang, and has my name on the license plate in the picture.  In addition the picture is solarized so the car looks much better and it looks almost like it is in movie, [...]

Picture of The Day-USS Forrestal and USS Saratoga

By Jon • Dec 7th, 2006 • Category: Picture of the Day

These two carriers are the USS Forrestal (front) and USS Saratoga (back) in Newport RI.  I though them to be appropriate for Pearl Harbor day although they were both build after Pearl Harbor.  I already used the Hellcat, which was a World War II plane, and these carriers reflect what we learned from Pearl Harbor; that carriers are [...]

Picture of the day-First Snow

By Jon • Dec 6th, 2006 • Category: Picture of the Day

This is a picture of the first snow for the winter season here in Rhode Island.  The first snow for this season occurred on December 4th even after the first snow for the season in Texas, but I have a feeling we will end up with more snow than any part of Texas in the [...]

Picture of the Day-carousel at Warwick Mall

By Jon • Dec 5th, 2006 • Category: Picture of the Day

This is a picture of the Carousel at the Warwick mall taken the same day as the Santa and reindeer picture. However this picture has the color curves edited slightly to give it the nice colors you see. I think it give it a very nice touch.

Picture of the Day-Christmas lights

By Jon • Dec 4th, 2006 • Category: Holiday, Picture of the Day

Unofficially Christmas Lane officially I think this is still Bruster Dr, but map-quest is intelligent enough to find it by the name Christmas Lane. Most of the houses in this drive put up real nice displays for Christmas, although there were some that did not bother to put up any lights.

Santa at the Festival of lights in Wickford.  The Festival of Lights is an event that happens evey year in the begining of December in which Santa comes to town and the Boy Scouts sell cider and hot cholate, etc.  Although it is over this year if you go next year make sure you buy [...]

Picture of the Day-Santa and reindeer

By Jon • Dec 2nd, 2006 • Category: Holiday, Picture of the Day

This is a picture of Santa and his reindeer at the Warwick mall.  I took this picture then a security guard told me that I cannot take pictures in the mall.  When I asked him why he said it is private property.  Go figure.  After I got home I looked up the rules, and a mall may be private property, but it is [...]
