This year’s RI National Guard Air Show and Open House to be held on June 27-28 will feature the Blue Angels. Additionally, this year the Canadian Snowbirds will also be there. The last time the Blue Angels have been at the show was back in 2007, and last year was somewhat unique in that it was the first year ever the British Red Arrows were there. In 2007 we also saw the F-22 Raptor, which is arguable the most advanced fighter jet in the world pending the introduction of the F-35 joint strike fighter. Last year we saw a B2 Bomber fly over, but no F-22.
This year the F-22 will be back and if it is anything like 2007 I imagine we may also see F-22 participate in a heritage flight. Additionally there will also be many of the usual suspects there including Sean Tucker, the Black Daggers, Mike Goulian, and others. Also new this year the V-22 Osprey will be there. As in years past there will likely be 1,000 of people and a shuttle system, to get people back and forth. There also be RV parking near the Quonset Air Museum, and the gates will open at 9am with the show beginning at 10am.
